Steam Hardware Survey February 2024 – VGA RTX 3060 Becomes Gamers' Favorite!

In recent months, there seems to be a shift in interest in the hardware and components that gamers use. The results of the February 2024 Steam Hardware Survey which came out recently seem to show that the VGA RTX 3060 is again a favorite among gamers. So, what about the other ingredients?

These are the results of our Steam hardware survey in February 2024

Based on the information displayed on the Steam Hardware Survey page, it appears that gamers prefer to use PCs equipped with RTX 3060 VGA cards, compared to using laptops powered by RTX 3060 Mobile.

As you can see in the “All Video Cards” section, the popularity of the RTX 3060 increased by around 1.19% to 6.17%. On the other hand, the popularity of the RTX 3060 mobile laptop decreased by 0.39% to 3.47%.

This trend of decreasing popularity also seems to have an impact on the RTX 4060 Mobile which also experienced a decrease of around 0.02%, from 2.61% to 2.59%. Even though the decline is not very visible, it is clear that gamers currently prefer the RTX 3060 on the PCs they use for gaming.

Our assumption is that the downward trend seen in the Steam hardware survey this time is because the holiday period is over, and now players are forced to return to their desks, rather than using laptops to support their activities.

6 core processor that gamers increasingly love!

Apart from showing global graphics card trends, the Steam Hardware survey also shows that 6-core processors are now increasingly preferred and recommended globally for gaming needs.

From the survey page, it was recorded that the popularity of processors with 6 cores during the last month was 2.48%, from 32.43% to 34.91%, followed by processors with 10 cores at 1%, from 4.05% to 5.05%.

This is of course not without reason, considering that the RTX 3060 graphics card requires an appropriate processor to provide maximum performance. In Indonesia itself, 6 core processors are currently available at very affordable prices.
